I love shopping online…I don’t have to fight crowds and I don’t even have to leave my house! But, shopping online can be costly if you don’t know how to shop effectively.

• Always make sure the site you’re shopping on is a secure website. You should be able to locate a  something at the bottom of the site that states it is secure (you might even see an image of a lock, etc.)
• Search for coupon codes to lower your out-of-pocket costs. Also, look for free shipping codes. (shipping can get costly)

Or, you can choose to shop at places like Amazon.com that offer every day low prices, plus free shipping everyday on orders of $25 or more. Or, sign up for Amazon Prime to get Free 2-day shipping every day!

• Go through a cash back site first. Cash back websites offer incentives for shopping at their preferred stores. By choosing a store located on their site, they will deposit a percentage of your purchase into your cashback account. Once your account reaches their minimum payout, they send you a check! No catch, I promise. My 2 preferred sites are Ebates.com and ShopAtHome.com. By doing this you’re getting paid to shop online, therefore bringing the cost of your purchase down! I don’t shop online without going through my ShopAtHome account first.
