Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne Review

As a child and even in my teenage years I had really clear skin, so much so, people use to comment on how beautiful my skin was…But, now as an adult, I have developed major breakouts :( I’ve tried many things like:  over-the-counter products and ProActive. I even worked in Dermatology and the only thing that helped was hardcore medicines. After I left there, I found myself struggling again.

My best friend and I were talking one day and I was complaining about my so-called “adult acne” problem. She is a Mary Kay consultant and I wear Mary Kay make-up, but I never thought about them having products to treat acne. So, I was excited when she said that they just came out with the Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne System. It’s a 4-step process, but don’t let that fool you…If you’re anything like me, I don’t make much time to wash my face (even though I know I should), therefore, I need something that’s easy enough for me to do!

This 4-step process literally takes me 5 minutes or less and one step I do in the shower so it takes me even less time!!

Step 1: Clarifying Cleansing Gel – this is the “face wash.” I do this step in the shower typically! It takes only a dime size amount. Apply to your face and then rinse.

Step 2: Blemish Control Toner – squirt a small amount on a cotton ball or cotton (make up remover) pad and rub over entire face. The toner helps get rid of dry/dead skin! It leaves your skin super smooth!

Step 3: Acne Treatment Gel – dab a small amount on trouble areas (where you are prone to develop acne or current blemishes). Note: make sure the toner is dry before you start this step!

Step 4: Oil-Free Moisturizer – “the finisher” as I like to call it! I’m really weird about moistorizer on my face. I can’t stand oily/greasy lotions on my face. I can tell you that this does not leave you feeling this way at all! I seriously love this moisturizer!

There are several ways to buy this product:

  1. Clear Proof Acne System (pictured above) $45
  2. Clear Proof Acne System On the Go Set (great for travel) $20
  3. Clear Proof Acne Treatment Gel $10
  4. Clear Proof Blemish Control Toner $15
  5. Clear Proof Clarifying Cleansing Gel $16
  6. Clear Proof Oil Free Moisturizer for Acne-Prone Skin $18
  7. Clear Proof Pore-Purifying Serum $17 (I just bought this and can’t wait to try it)!!

The pictures don’t really do it justice and I’m sorry for my scary look without makeup and I’m not really sure why they came out so red but oh well…selfies don’t ever turn out great!!!

I’m the same way. Never really had acne problems as a teen but do now as an adult. :/ It’s great to hear that the Mary Kay line is working!

I used to love MaryKay products, not anymore… my friend and me just tested this treatement few days ago, and we both had a BIG allergy, (we never had allergies before) our faces are swollen red and dry, yesterday night we had to go to the hospital, because her allergy was getting worse and the medication we had at the pharmacy didnt work, she started to have problems to breath! Our faces still itchy, never imagined that a beauty product could turned like that BE AWARE OF THIS PRODUCTS, now we have a medical treatement with benadryl and prednisone…

I’m sorry you both had a bad reaction. As with any skin care products you should always test a small area before using. I would contact the company and see if they can assist. However, I use this daily if not twice a day and I have never had any problems.

My m use to use and sell Mary Kay, she loved loved loved it! As for me I stayed breaking out at 18 and I’ve tried EVERYTHING ( medicines from the derm, over the counter, proactiv) so I decided to try the 4 step Clearproof, does not work for my type of skin (sensitive, combination dry/oiky skin). The wash has a little too much salicylic acid in it and the toner made me been out due to the benzoyl peroxide in it and the moisturizer dried me out completely. I would not recommend this product to anyone with my skin type. But everyone’s skin is student so it might work for one and not another.
