Day 10: Organizing Your Kitchen Drawers

by Lisa on July 20, 2012

Sometimes I cringe as I open my kitchen drawers and cabinets. How many of you have trouble with your cabinet where you store your Tupperware and Rubbermaid containers?  I know that is a problem area for me.  They all come falling out when I opening the cabinet.  Anyone understand that feeling?

I have found that baskets or square storage containers holds the lids very well. I put all the lids matched together and stack them in the container.  Then I have space to stack the like containers together.  It does help when I can grab a container and lid and put my leftovers in them quickly.

One of my friends suggested to organize your drawers, especially junk drawers, is to use a silverware holder.  You can put pens, pencils, scissors, etc. in that organization system.  I thought that was a great idea and will have to try that for my junk drawers.  I put all my batteries in a Rubbermaid container so it helps me see what batteries we have and need to buy.  The little storage containers are always helpful in organizing the small things.

It can be challenging to step into your kitchen and start this process.  Have a friend with you who can see things from a different perspective.  That always helps me.  Have fun digging in your kitchen to make it more enjoyable to be in to cook and bake for your family and friends.
